Minister Pandeli Majko and Minister Lindita Nikolla met the President of the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Ms. Simoneta Saliera and other local government officials. Part of the meeting was also the Vice President of the Economic Policy Committee of the region. At the meeting, Minister Majko emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the Albanian businesses. According to Mr. Majko, this will help the Italian businesses to explore various investment alternatives in Albania. The Vice President of the Economic Policy Committee found this to be an interesting idea and stated that the network policy is one of the priorities of the Emilia Romagna region. At the meeting, participants discussed the possibility of organizing an annual meeting for Albanian entrepreneurs, with the support of the regional authorities. The President of the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Ms. Simoneta Saliera appreciated the contribution of the Albanian community in the region and expressed her willingness to help in creating conditions for learning the Albanian language. In addition, they discussed the possibility of organizing a book fair. Minister Nikolla talked about the importance of teaching the Albanian language and culture courses in order to preserve the Albanian values in Europe. Another topic discussed at the meeting was Albania joining the EU; the regional authorities expressed their full support regarding this issue.
Mr. Majko and Mrs. Nikolla met with representatives of the Albanian community associations in Bologna. They informed the participants on the issues addressed during the meeting with the regional authorities. Mr. Majko and Mrs. Nikolla received several questions from the participants such as the right to vote, their representation in the Albanian Parliament, and education. Additionally, they discussed about the institutions that are being created to support the diaspora. Minister Majko asked the Albanian community to assist the Albanian government with their valuable projects and ideas.
